| continue to encourage ways for teachers to have students integrated technology with their learning. Came across a blog "Plethora of Technology" and read of a middle school teacher that was encouraging writing on the web. He makes a great point. Check out his video below.

Interesting video and very interesting set of posts.
The more people that share their thoughts the better, especially concerning the transformation of teducation where there are too many 'experts' who wish things to remain as they remember them.
In both the UK and Cayman I am involved in this process - an online forum to share ongoing issues and ideas would be a great idea for continued debate anbd prevent people reinventing the wheel.
Keep writing
I'm not sure that students of the 21st century will need their writing skills more than they'll need their listening skills, which, in my eyes, are much more crucial as life skills: understanding their surroundings, peers and environment. This is what we're supposed to be promoting. And once our students will listen correctly, they'll know exactly whats expected from them, and who exactly is in front of them, waiting for their opinion to be heard. If you listen - your voice will be heard. But if you just know how to write nice - you'll be among the millions out there who already are...
Noam, thanks for your comments. We are in fact, promoting 21st century skills. Critical thinking and listening are essential skills for students. Writing is just another skill which includes critical writing and analysis. I would not want to give you the impressiona that all we focus on is technology and writing. Reading, listening and speaking are essential New York State Standards. There is an enormous focus on these skills K-12.
